Raft Of Activities On Offer For Youngsters At Tendring Leisure Centres During February Half Term

A wide range of activities are taking place across Tendring District Council-run leisure centres this coming half term to keep youngsters entertained during the school holiday.

Harwich Sports Centre has dodgeball, football, racket sports and a multi-sports fun day on the cards during the holiday, while at Dovercourt Bay Lifestyles there a fun float sessions in the pool on various days in the break.

At Brightlingsea Sports Centre there is everything from trampolining and non-contact boxing to bouncy castle soft play, multi-sports and fitness fun.

Manningtree Sports Centre is the place to go to try out climbing, ‘racket and whack it’ or even a roller disco on the Friday afternoon, while Walton-on-the-Naze Lifestyles pool has a series of fun inflatable and float sessions for all the family.

Clacton Leisure Centre is offering a number of taster sessions for youngsters to try new activities, from karate to gymnastics, basketball to futsal, and even trampolining. In the pool there is a mixture of fun sessions and intensive classes for those looking to improve their skills in the water.

Mick Skeels, Tendring District Council (TDC) Cabinet Member for Leisure and Tourism, said there was something for everyone.

“In February half term the weather can often be too gloomy to get out and explore the great outdoors, but you can still have plenty of fun in the great indoors,” Cllr Skeels said.

“There are activities suitable for all ages and interests taking place at our leisure centres, and I would urge you to have a look at what’s on when making your half term plans.

“It’s a great way to help keep young people active during the holiday as part of our livewell initiative.”

Booking is recommended as activities can become full. For a full list of activities visit www.tendringdc.gov.uk/leisure/leisure-centres-and-pools/school-holiday-activities
